Islamic Gold Dinar

According to this article, the Islamic Gold Dinar was released in early August of this year. On 321Gold's Gold Dinar page, the last article listed related to the dinar was on August 1st of this year. I haven't found any of the coins on ebay, or anywhere else. Hell, I haven't found any new information on the coins since that last article. What's up with that? Am I the only person who finds this as a little odd?

I thought the gold dinar was going to be nothing more than a digital currency backed by gold. I didn't think they had plans for actually minting anything.

You are thinking of E-dinar, something that has been around for awhile.

The only reference to an actual Gold dinar in coin form I've seen is from an article @

http://www.khilafah.com/home/categor...D=7961&TagID=2

In brief, the Royal Mint of Malaysia supposedly released to the public the first Gold Dinar in 1 and 1/4 denominations. It is 22k (91.7% gold content like the American Eagle). The 1/2, 2 and 4 Dinar coins were to follow several weeks later. The article is dated July 30 of this year and these events were slated to unfold "next month".

No doubt, I wasn't even looking for one. I was in World gold, I think. It's the only one, too. I emailed the seller and said I was in the market for Dinars and would they be offering any more in the near future. By the way, just a formality of course, but it's "sister"! Xiao. :rose:

Malaysia is the driving country behind the Dinar to be used by Islamic countries.

Mostly it was proposed to be used for international trade between Islamic countries. Member countries can still use their own currencies or Dinars for domestic trade.

That was the last I heard about it.

I doubt their national currencies will get much use if members adopt this plan. It may also be nails in their coffins as the New World Order will not allow it.

I thought the stepping stone for the Gold Dinar was for use during the pilgrimage season (Haj). Let's see if it takes off from there.
